The Chargers swent undefeated over the weekend to win the Queen’s Court Tournament at Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club in Orange County, taking down Corona del Mar 25-22, 25-21 to win the event’s grand prize, a tiara.

“Everyone contributed to the win and each girl can wear the tiara with a sense of pride and satisfaction,” said head coach Todd Garrett.

The coach highlighted the setting of Sammie Brown and Paige Crane and said that Megan Smith made some key plays defensively to go along with cruicial runs at the service line to help the Charers come back and defeat Orange Lutheran in the semifinals.

Carly Wopat, Karina Evans and Kelcey Chaffin ran the show in the middle while Taylor Racich, Nicki Brown, Sam Wopat and Sally Yingst “were unstoppable” on the outside. Katie Spieler, Gaelen Vesquez and Jordan Roberts anchored the back row.
