This weekend is especially busy with the annual 15k run, which was pushed off its normal 4th of July weekend start last year because of the Gap Fire, on Saturday. The Santa Barbara Tennis Open, which is one year older than Semana Nautica, and the Semana Nautica Age Group Swim Meet at Los Banos Pool are both two-day events.  Open water swims are scheduled to start at the Bath House at 8 a.m. on Saturday (1-mile) and Sunday (3-mile).

The defending NBC National Champion Santa Barbara Foresters play a Saturday game at Pershing Park, a perfect warmup to that evening’s fireworks.  The CBVA hosts a men’s and women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the East Beach courts, handing out $1,000 in each division.
