Dyer, Chargers tame Lions in sweep

Jordon Dyer had 13 kills, seven digs and a block Monday to lead the Dos Pueblos boys volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-21, 25-22 sweep at Oaks Christian.

Cody Zoesch was unstoppable, putting away 10 kills on 11 swings in the middle while also picking up a pair of blocks.

Setter Tim Baxter dished out 34 assists to complement a kill, two digs, three aces and two blocks.

“He played a really good game tonight. He was consistent and was a real leader on the court,” said teammate Dillan Bennett.

Overall, the Chargers had just 10 errors on the match.

“You’re going to win every match if you do that,” said coach Chris Hughes.

DP has one final shot at tying for the league title, as they head to play at Santa Barbara on Thursday. The Dons swept the Chargers two weeks ago.

“I think we just need to be a little bit smarter and key in on where their guys are,” said Bennett. “I think we have the talent to beat them… We just have to stop (Chris) Pratt.”
