Trevor Madden hit two triples, including one with the bases juiced in a 7-run seventh for Carpinteria Friday as the Warriors pounded Nordhoff 13-3.
Coach Pat Cooney said that the conditions in the field were tough with a hard surface on the windy, sunny day, and in turn the Warriors feasted at the plate. Robert Thornton had three hits with two runs and two RBIs, Juan Carrillo had two hits with an RBI and a run scored and cousin Diego had two hits with two RBIs and two runs.
Isacc Cervantes rounded out the multi-hit efforts with a pair of base knocks while crossing the plate twice.
Carpinteria’s defense held up and committed no errors despite the conditions, while the Rangers committed three.
The Warriors (7-3) begin play in the stacked Tri-Valley League by hosting Oak Park on Tuesday. Nordhoff falls to 1-7.
