Warriors get pinched in seventh, 4-3

The Carpinteria girls softball team endured a demoralizing defeat on Thursday, losing 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning to Grace Brethren in a Frontier League contest.

Dani Mendoza led the Warriors at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the fifth inning that gave Carpinteria a brief 3-2 lead. Lily Perez had started the rally in the previous inning by knocking in two runners to even the score.

Roxanne Hugo added a double for the Warriors, who fall to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. Their next game isn’t until April 7, after spring break against Hueneme.
