Ventura brushes off Vaqueros, 9-0

Ventura won three-set matches at No. 2 and 3 singles Thursday and went on to defeat SBCC 9-0 in a WSC women’s tennis match at Pershing Park. Alex Prince-Kathy Startzman dropped a tough 8-6 decision in doubles and fell to 6-2 on the season.

SBCC dropped its fifth in a row, falling to 2-9 overall and 2-8 in the WSC. 

“Ventura played tough,” said coach Debbie Ekola. “We gave it our best shot.”

The Vaqueros travel to Hancock on Friday for a 2 p.m. match.
