Royals tear down Arcadia for third straight

The San Marcos boys volleyball team made it three-for-three on Friday night with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 sweep at Arcadia on Friday night for the Royals third straight win to start the season.

Head coach Roger Kuntz noted the strong play from his two senior setters, Michael York and Erik Holliday. Also in the mix was outside hitter Neil Greene who has been one of the Royals’ best servers and passers so far this season.

The Royals take their three-game winning streak into their Channel League opener on Thursday at the Thunderhut against Buena. Then, San Marcos travels to San Diego over the weekend for the elite Best of the West Tournament – an event that the Royals have never played in.

“I’m excited to see how San Marcos matches up,” said Kuntz.
