Nothing much went right for the Bishop Diego boys baseball team in Friday’s 17-6 mercy-rule loss against visiting Oaks Christian.
“Honestly I was kind of shocked at how good they were,” said coach Brian Moulton. “That team is made up of almost all sophomores, but if they are indicative of what the rest of the Tri-Valley League is made of we have our work cut out for us.”
AJ Fling was a bright spot for the Cardinals, as Moulton said his fastball was impressive and may have solidified the senior’s spot in the rotation as a replacement for injured ace Dylan Jamison.
Bishop hosts Malibu on Wednesday.
