Neilsen-Robbins hands Santa Paula 13-7 defeat

Starting pitcher Rebecca Neilsen-Robbins helped her own cause on Wednesday afternoon, smacking a double and a home run to help the Santa Barbara girls softball team to a 13-7 victory.

It’s the fourth win in five tries this season for Neilsen-Robbins.

The Dons got off to an early start, scoring five runs in the first inning, but Santa Paula quickly fired back, scoring six in the second.

Putting up big numbers for Santa Barbara was Mary Ann Giles who scored a total of four runs. Rachel Hunter also made quite the contribution, with four RBI’s and two hits.

The win gives Santa Barbara an overall record of 4-2 going into next Tuesday’s game against Ventura, at Ventura at 3:30 p.m.
