Luther Tarver-Burks scored 23 points and Connor Murphy added 22 as the Laguna Blanca boys basketball team cut a 25-point deficit down to 11 before losing 78-60 at Thacher.
Coach Sal Rodriguez said that Murphy had an exceptional all-around game, but that the Owls lacked a post-presence without the services of big man Jake Longstreth, who was serving a one-game suspension.
Laguna Blanca is now 5-11 overall and 1-4 in the Condor League, with a chance to still make the postseason by winning out.
