Rodriguez leads Warriors again in blowout

Carpinteria junior Manny Rodriguez delivered another big game for the Warriors on Thursday, collecting 27 points, 12 rebounds and five assists to lead Carp past L.A. Baptist 71-41.

In two games, Rodriguez has amassed 43 points and 23 rebounds – both Warrior blowouts.

“I think he’s one of the best-kept secrets around,” said Rodriguez’s head coach, John Ward.

The 6-foot-3 junior was 9-of-13 from the field and hit 9-of-12 free throws.

“That’s a pretty darn good game,” finished Ward.

After being tied at halftime, Carpinteria outscored Baptist 39-9 in the second half to earn a Friday matchup with Fillmore. Oaks Christian and Rosamond play in the other semifinal.

Junior guard Kevin Lusterio scored 10 points and dished out seven assists while Nathan Saito tallied 12 points.
