Dons spread the love against Santa Paula

John Uribe and Kyle Leonard each hit three 3-pointers as the Santa Barbara boys basketball team picked up an offensively balanced 76-63 win over Santa Paula Thursday night in the Pacifica Tournament.

Uribe finished with a game-high 19 points, while Spencer Thomas and Roberto Nelson tallied 13 apiece and Leonard had 12.

“Having four guys in double figures is nice,” said assistant coach John Slavin. “Our offense is really starting to come around, but we’re not satisfied with the defense just yet.”

Nelson was looking for his teammates all night, dishing out eight assists. Slavin said the star senior tweaked his knee a bit towards the end of the game and was questionable for Friday night’s game against Pacifica.
