Dons fall short against Pacifica

Santa Barbara’s boys basketball team ended its first half against Pacifica on a high note, as Roberto Nelson hit a trey and John Uribe followed it up with a steal and buzzer-beating lay-up. The Dons (4-6), however, fell victim to the Triton’s strong post presence and fell 52-46 in the Pacifica Tournament on Friday.

“The story was their inside play,” said coach Chris Hantgin. “Their big guys did some damage on us. I thought we fought hard, but the kids just didn’t execute well offensively.”

The Dons play Oak Park in Saturday’s third-place game at 5:30 p.m.
