Carp ends tourney on high note

Carpinteria’s girls basketball team will go into 2009 with a winning record, improving to 6-5 after defeating Holy Family 48-33 Tuesday, finishing ninth out of 16 teams in the Providence Tournament.

The Warriors had a season-high 11 assists in the game, getting two big performances out of Amanda Burch (18 points, five steals) and Caitlin Wallace (16 points, five assists).

Carp led by only three, 19-16, at the half, but implemented a full-court press and broke the game open in the third quarter.The Warriors play at Coastal Christian on Jauary 3rd, then host Hueneme on January 6th at 6:30.
