Royal spikers toy with Laguna

The San Marcos girls volleyball team had a number of positive contributions in a non-league sweep over Laguna Blanca on Thursday.

“We just continue to improve,” said Royals coach Roger Kuntz after the 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 match concluded. “That’s three wins in a row for us now. We’re just playing really consistently right now.”

San Marcos’ six-foot tandem of Jenn Waddill and Grace Conner had 10 kills each, many being set up by setter Kristin Kuntz, who had 28 assists.

Emma Campbell and Kristin Schroeder provided the defense, collecting 26 digs between the two of them.

The Royals (11-6), who won’t be playing in this weekend’s Tournament of Champions, return to Channel League play on Tuesday with a showdown against Santa Barbara.
