Charger bench does the trick

Their starting goalie and two-meter man were out, but the Chargers got it done.

Dos Pueblos’ boys water polo team used five goals from Kevin Cappon and five more from Derek Shoemaker to beat visiting Channel League-foe Buena 17-7 on Tuesday afternoon at Elings Aquatic Center.

Isaiah Haas got the start in the cage and had eight saves to go along with four steals.

“It’s good to see the others perform,” said coach Chris Parrish. “We were missing our top offensive player, so it was good for them to come through. Any time you win a league game it’s big.”

DP plays at Esperanza on Thursday and at San Marcos on Tuesday.
