Santa Barbara High’s No. 3 and 4 golfers, Kylie Wagner and Lexi Ortega, each fired a round of 50 at par-36 Montecito Country Club as the Dons (7-2) opened Channel League play with a 255-298 win over visiting Ventura.
Amanda Marshall of the Cougars was the medalist with a 49, and Santa Barbara’s five scores were all within two strokes of each other.
“Last week we shot a 261 at Montecito, so we’re improving steadily as a group,” said coach Ryan Throop.The Dons play Buena on Tuesday and host San Marcos on Thursday.
