The doubles pairings of Brooke Czuleger-Julia Rios and Mary Breen-Brenna Linehan each went 3-0 as the Bishop Diego girls tennis team beat host Santa Clara 13-5 Tuesday to improve to 3-0 in the Frontier League.
“I think our girls had some challenges in singles with their No. 1 because she’s a state-ranked player, and it gave them a little heads up as to what is to come. The girls had a great day and kept saying how nice the other girls were,” said Cardinals coach Suzanne Petrie, whose team plays at rival Carpinteria on Thursday.
