Bishop netters start league on the right foot

Bishop Diego’s Brittany Gignac was in a zone on Tuesday, sweeping her three sets without losing a game in a 12-6 girls tennis victory over visiting Nordhoff.

“(Brittany) wiped everyone off map,” exclaimed coach Suzanne Petrie, whose Cardinals improve to 2-3 on the season, 1-0 in the Frontier League.

No. 2 singles player Emily Harrington also swept three sets, and Devon Stein went 2-1 to complete a strong showing from Bishop’s singles lineup.

The doubles team of Brooke Czulegar and Julia Rios kept pace and led the doubles team by going 2-1.
