The San Marcos baseball team led 6-2 against Buena after Jimmy Brakka hit a grand slam in fifth inning, but the Royals' bullpen struggled and the Bulldogs came back to win the game 7-6 in eight innings."We gave it to them, like Santa Claus," San Marcos coach Michael Sanford said. Royals swim strong against Orcutt
The San Marcos swim team posted several impressive individual performances in its dual meet with Orcutt Academy.In the boys race, Abhi Sarkar-Frandsen won the 50 yard freestyle (22.66), which is a CIF qualifying time. He also bettered that time when he swam the first leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 22.51. San Marcos' boys volleyball team closed out its Channel League season on Thursday with a 25-12, 30-28, 25-22 sweep of Buena at the Thunderhut.Seven San Marcos seniors were recognized on senior night. The San Marcos boys track and field team edged out Dos Pueblos by one point on Thursday with their 4x4 as the last event on the Chargers' track.
