A panel of media members has picked the UCSB men’s basketball team to finish second in the Big West Conference in 2009-10. The same panel also named Gaucho sophomore Orlando Johnson to the preseason all-conference team. Cassie Brooker was named the Big West Athlete of the Week in women's cross country after her performance at last weekend's Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational.Brooker completed the 5k course in 18:09.0 to take fourth place.
