Warriors balance it out to beat Grace Brethren

Seven Warriors got in the scoring column and all got quality minutes in Carpinteria’s 48-35 Frontier League win over Grace Brethren on Thursday.

“The balance we’ve been getting in games is what we’ve been wanting to see, and it’s making it hard for opponents to focus in on one player,” said coach Dan Mercer.

Nicole Pearce had seven points and five steals while Caitlin Wallace had eight points and five steals of her own. Sophomore Myriah Diaz continued to be Carpinteria’s sparkplug off the bench, tallying eight points on the night.

“She was really scrapping tonight,” said Mercer.

Next up for the Warriors (12-6, 3-1) is Saturday’s big rivalry game against Bishop Diego, with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
