The San Marcos girls soccer team had too much offensive firepower for visiting Oxnard, cruising to a 4-0 non-league blowout on Thursday.
The Royals’ opening goal of the the game came in the 22nd minute off the feet of Sierra Palladino after a combined assist from Melanie Miller and Chloe Hamer set her up with a slip pass. Paladino’s goal gave San Marcos a 1-0 lead at the half.
Camryn Crang increased the deficit after recovering the ball on the 25 yard line and volleying it in for the score.
The third goal in the game came in the 65th minute off a left footed strike off a pass Hamer.
Natasha Wood tacked on the final goal of the game with a beautiful strike to the upper corner from about 25 feet out, closing out the game at 4-0.
The San Marcos defense also delivered a solid performance on the day, leaving the opponent scoreless with only 3 shots on goal.
