Junior Adan Alvaro, senior Brandon Godinez and freshman Thomas Vadnais scored key victories for San Marcos on Tuesday in a 42-36 dual-match victory over Santa Paula.
Alvaro set the tone by winning the night’s first match in the 126-pound class by pin.
“Adan is one of our team captains and he’s feeling good coming off a 8th place finish at Newbury Park last Saturday,” said Royals coach Tony Becerra.
Godinez moved up a weight level and won at 145 pounds. At 160 pounds, Max Montiel picked up another victory for the Royals with smart strategy.
San Marcos competes again this week, taking on Hueneme on Thursday.
