Carpinteria suffered a 1-0 defeat to Channel Islands on Tuesday but Warriors head coach Charles Bryant said his team showed improvement from their previous game.
The match was scoreless until Channel Islands broke through with 10 minutes remaining in the second half. It was a better all-around effort than when the Warriors gave up four goals the day before.
“We created a few strong chances especially in the second half but for the most part it was a very even game,” Bryant said.
Alejandra Alvarez drew praise from her coach for her play in Tuesday’s game, as did midfielders Emmelly Santillan and Aisha Duarte.
The Warriors stand at 1-3 on the season.
