Four different goal scorers highlighted Santa Barbara High’s 4-1 victory over Camarillo on Tuesday in a non-league contest at Peabody Stadium.
The Scorpions managed to strike first, taking a 1-0 lead just past the half-way mark of the first half. Santa Barbara responded five minutes later when Julie Pitney sent a cross to the middle that was touched by Isabelle Mendro and made it to Bailey Wolf who scored. The Dons took their first lead before halftime on a corner kick by Gardenia Maya that was finished by Amanda Donovan.
Kylie Schmidt and Payton Wolf scored in the second half to give Santa Barbara plenty of breathing room while the defensive effort of Reyna Paredes and Jackie Hewitt stymied Camarillo.
“It was a great team effort tonight with everyone playing their part,” said Dons head coach Jill Wolf. “The ladies continue to improve and work hard for one another and it is great to get the result.”
