Anya Schmitz and Elena Ibetson scored goals, and Dos Pueblos opened its girls soccer season with a 2-2 tie at Moorpark on Wednesday night.
Ibetson gave the Chargers a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute, but Moorpark tallied the equalizer five minutes later.
The Musketeers opened the scoring midway through the first half, collecting a loose ball at the top of the 18-yard box and shooting through a maze of players.
Schmitz jumped on a ball in the penalty area and slotted it past an onrushing Moorpark goalkeeper to tie the score at 1-1.
DP coach Hugh Hollis was pleased to come away with a positive result against a quality opponent.
“Moorpark High is a difficult place to come and get a result, so I was very happy with the effort the girls put in,” he said.
“Coming away with a positive result was very good for us. This is a very good result and a good start to the season. We have a very young team and collectively everyone did very well.”
