Alejandra Alvarez scored both goals for the Carpinteria girls soccer team, pacing the Warriors to a 2-0 victory over Bishop Diego in a non-league matchup on Thursday.
Alvarez’ scores both came in the second half, the first of which was a strike from twelve yards out in the 60th minute, while the second came only 10 minutes later from a similar spot.
Head coach Charles Bryant credits Tatiana Roquejo for a stellar performance defensively saying, “She had to man-mark their strongest player in the second half and did a great job of shutting her down by being physical and using her speed.”
Carpinteria will have a couple of touch matches next week as it prepares for league competition.
