Tori Kelley dribbled the length of the court and layed in the winning basket with five seconds to go on Wednesday, leading Carpinteria over Nordhoff 46-45.
The Rangers took a 45-44 lead with 12 seconds on the clock as Mikyla McGhee scored two of her game-high 25 points on free throws. Kelley took the inbounds pass and went coast to coast for the winner.
Kelley finished with 13 points for Carpinteria. Also in double figures for the Warriors was Sierra Diaz, with 12 points points, and Alondra Campuzano, with 11. Harmony Reed’s inside-outside game produced six points and six assists.
The Warriors continue play at the Nordhoff Tournament on Thursday in a game against Thousand Oaks.
