Santa Barbara High’s defense forced several steals and turned them into points in a 70-44 girls basketball win over host Lompoc on Friday at the Brian Ayer Classic at Lompoc High.
The Dons will play Righetti in the tournament championship game on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Amber Melgoza, Jada Howard and Alondra Jimenez combined for 17 steals on the night. Jimenez and Howard led the way with six apiece.
Melgoza scored 28 points for the second straight night in limited playing time. She also grabbed five rebounds. Howard had 10 and Jimenez each scored 10 points The Dons shot 47 percent as a team.
