Dos Pueblos didn’t allow a goal for the second game to start the season on Wednesday in a 2-0 victory over Moorpark.
The Chargers (2-0) scored both their goals in the second half starting when junior Pablo Montalvo took a through pass from Oscar Garcia and used his foot speed to one on one situation with the keeper. Garcia made a move around the keeper and angled a shot into the net.
Garcia started the play that led the Dos Pueblos’ second goal. The junior took a throw-in and passed to Manny Nwosu. A ball towards the goal ended up at the foot of Brian Gutierrez who capitalized. Calvin Schipper nearly delivered a crowd-pleasing goal when his header ricocheted off the cross bar with great force. Montalvo was the player of the match for the Chargers according to head coach Matt York.
Dos Pueblos plays next at the Cats and Hounds Tournament this weekend in Lompoc.
