Cate didn’t do itself any favors in a 60-37 loss to Rio Hondo on Thursday at the Ojai Invitational.
The Rams missed a bundle of layups and finished 3-10 from the free-throw line. Head coach Andy Gil was pleased to see his team be more aggressive going to the rim while executing the offense well.
“Extremely happy with our execution of our offense, but we just didn’t see the ball go through the hole even with the good shots we were taking,” Gil said.
Marko Pliso’s 21 points were a team high and marked his second consecutive 20-point game. Clinton Hall contributed eight points.
The Rams move on to play Villanova on Friday at 6 p.m.
