Defense set the tone in Dos Pueblos’ 85-48 non-league boys basketball win over Nipomo on Friday.
The Chargers roared out to a 20-10 lead in the first quarter and led 39-24 at halftime.
“We forced Nipomo into a lot of turnovers and then converted on the offensive end,” DP coach Joe Zamora said. “We shared the ball and shot better from the three-point line.”
Anthony Trujillo drilled five treys and the Chargers made 10 as a team. Trujillo led DP with 17 points, Mounir Mani had 14 and Cyrus Wallace scored 12.
“Mani played well around the basket and Jayson Williams really directed our team tonight. He did a great job on their point guard,” said Zamora.
