Sierra Hearron poured in 10 points for San Marcos on Monday night but the Royals came up short, 34-27, against Orcutt Academy.
The Royals struggled with their shot as a team, making just 9 of 51 field goal attempts. Orcutt took advantage and led 19-9 at halftime.
“Played great defense, didnt turn the ball over, rebounded well. We took good shots, moved the ball around. Just couldnt convert anything,” said San Marcos assistant coach Aaron Solis.
The Royals take the court again at the Fillmore Tournament starting next Tuesday.
