Seven SBCC men’s soccer players were named to the All-Western State Conference team and Kebba Nyang made the All-Southern Cal squad.
Nyang, a speedy sophomore midfielder from Gothenburg, Sweden, had three goals and three assists for the Vaqueros, who won five of their last six games to finish 11-4-6 overall and fourth in the WSC at 7-3-6.
Kyran Johal and Johan Mauritzson made the first team. Johal, a sophomore forward from London, England, scored seven goals while Mauritzson, a freshman from Sweden, guided the Vaquero defense from his center-back position.
Midfielder William Joyce (5 assists) and defender Jacob Salas made the second team while midfielder Simon Sebbah and defender/forward Nicolas Genthon were honorable mention.
Genthon, a freshman from Houston, had a hat trick in the first game vs. L.A. Harbor and the last game against Moorpark. He led the team with nine goals and 20 points.
