San Marcos and Laguna Blanca will travel for their second-round matches in the CIF volleyball playoffs on Thursday.
San Marcos makes the long trip to Yucaipa in Division 1A for a 6 p.m. match. Yucaipa, the No. 2 team from the Citrus Belt League, defeated St. Lucy’s in three sets in the first round. San Marcos, the Channel League co-champion, swept Agoura.
Laguna Blanca, the No. 4 seed in Division 4AA, plays at Grace Brethren in Simi Valley. Grace Brethren, the No. 3 team in the Tri-Valley League, won in three sets at Rolling Hills Prep on Tuesday.
Cate, the defending champion and top-seeded team in Division 4A, opens the playoffs on Thursday with a second-round home match against San Gabriel Mission, the No. 1 team from the Horizon League. San Gabriel Mission swept Edgewood to earn a shot at Cate.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday.
