For the second straight week, Bishop Diego moved up in the CIF Northern Division football poll. The Cardinals are ranked sixth this week after rising two spots to No. 7 last week.
Bishop had been stuck at No. 9 for several weeks.
The Cardinals (9-0, 2-0) put their ranking, unbeaten record and sole possession of first place in the Tri-Valley League on the line Friday in the regular-season finale at Nordhoff in Ojai. The Rangers (2-7, 1-1) have denied Bishop a league title the last two seasons.
Carpinteria (3-6, 1-1), which is listed among others in the Northern Division, can make the playoffs if it beats Fillmore on Friday at home.
