Bolden Brace scored 25 points in Santa Barbara High’s season opener on Monday, a 73-50 victory over visiting Nipomo.

Brace’s full stat line included five rebounds and four assists. Brace, a Dons senior committed to Northeastern next year, did most of his damage in the second half with 15 of his 25 points.

Ben Clay carried the Dons in the first half, scoring all but two of his 17 points. The Dons senior showed off extended range from his junior year by making three 3-point baskets.

Nick Busch was also in double figures for the Dons with 16 points and led the team in the rebounding department with nine.

The trio accounted for 58 of the Dons’ 73 points.

Santa Barbara (1-0) plays again on Saturday at Pioneer Valley.
