Led by four players with double-figure kill totals, Westmont toppled No. 1 Biola on Friday night 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 30-28 in a GSAC match.
The Warriors were led by Taylor Beckman, who posted a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs. Libby Dahlberg and Sydney Striff added 11 kills apiece, and Jessica McCann had 10.
The Warriors came out on fire to control the first set by hitting .429. Westmont was able to clinch the match in the fourth set despite hitting .140 in that game.
The result leaves Biola with its second conference loss of the season. Vanguard maintains first place at 12-0 while Biola sits in second at 10-2. Westmont moves into sole possession of third place with a 10-4 record.
Westmont hosts Hope International on Tuesday in its next match, one of three before the postseason begins.
