Kelsey Steck scored both goals for No. 8 Westmont in a 2-2 draw with 15th-ranked Vanguard in a GSAC match Saturday at Thorrington Field.
Steck took a cross from Ariel Johnson and slotted the ball into the right side of the goal for a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.
Vanguard’s Alex Bachman answered back in the 25th minute, poking in a jumbled ball after a corner kick.
Bachman fed Cody Farrell for the Lion’s go-ahead goal in the 80th minute.
But Westmont responded a minute later. Johnston drove down the left sideline, played the ball up field to sophomore Haley Parzonko who sent a cross into the goal box. Steck crashed into the box and scored on a header to tie the score at 2-2.
The result leaves Westmont at 9-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the GSAC; Vanguard is 9-4-1 and 3-2-1.
