D’Shaun Vines scored a pair of rushing touchdowns for San Marcos on Friday night in a 25-13 non-league loss at Nordhoff.
The two TDs give the Royals’ quarterback seven rushing touchdowns in his last three games. His first was an 80-yard which started with Vines shedding tackles in his usual fashion. The second was a six-yarder set up by a long pass to Anthony Diaz Garcia.
Vines’ touchdowns came in the second quarter but the Royals had already fell behind 25-0. The second half was entirely scoreless for both teams.
The Rangers scored 25 quick points in the first half thanks to great field possession. San Marcos turnovers were the culprit.
Regin Wilson caught two touchdown passes from Nordhoff quarterback Daniel Williams.
Nordhoff was able to win its first game of the season and avoid an 0-6 start.
The Royals enter their bye week standing at 1-5 overall. They’ll open Channel League play on October 16 hosting Ventura.
