Santa Barbara City College blasted L.A. Southwest 48-10 on Saturday to improve to 2-0 in American Pacific Conference play. It’s the second straight week SBCC has put 48 points on the scoreboard.
A 19-point second quarter allowed the Vaqueros to take a commanding 33-7 halftime lead. Osha Washington scored two touchdowns in the quarter on a 25-yard pass from Brandon Edwards and a one-yard run on a reverse.
Edwards finished 13-19 for 201 yards and two touchdowns. SBCC’s offense totaled 441 yards. Special teams play was highlighted by Elijah Cunningham’s 82-yard kick-off return for a touchdown.
SBCC has its bye next week and returns to the field on October 17.
