Jason Winicki scored in the 71st minute on Tuesday and SBCC went on to tie Hancock 1-1 in a WSC men’s soccer game in Santa Maria.
The Vaqueros (6-3-5, 2-2-5) have tied their last three games and four of the last five. SBCC won the first meeting with Hancock 5-1 on Sept. 18.
The Bulldogs (3-8-3, 2-5-2) took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute on a goal by Jorge Guzman. Winicki, a freshman forward from Crescenta Valley High, tied it by scoring from point-blank range after Hadyn Dickinson headed it back to him. Winicki had another solid scoring chance three minutes later but Hancock goalie Humberto Figueroa made a diving save.
Santa Barbara will host Canyons on Friday at 7 p.m.
