San Marcos bounced back from its first loss of the Channel League season with a confident 25-18, 25-20, 27-25 sweep of Buena on Thursday.
Taryn Stevens stepped in for an injured Gabi Peoples and manned the setter position in good form.
“She ran a very well balanced offense and made great setting decisions,” said Royals head coach Erica Downing.
Jenna MacFarlane and Chloe Allen received most of the sets with MacFarlane leading the team in kills with 15. Allen had a double-double of 13 kills and 12 digs.
“The whole team stepped up tonight. As a team we passed and served wonderful,” Downing said.
San Marcos improves to 5-1 in league play. The Royals play again on Wednesday against Santa Ynez.
