The Battle for Carpinteria ended in an easy sweep for Cate on Thursday as the Rams recorded a 25-18, 25-10, 25-10 sweep in a Frontier-League match.
Cate’s two-headed attack consisting of Delaney Mayfield and Peyton Shelburne collected 33 kills with Shelburne hitting her highest ever .448. Freshman Katie Browne stepped into a larger role because of injuries to other players and managed three kills on seven attempts. Olivia Siemmens was strong at the service line.
Cate as a team hit .337.
The Rams, who are 15-6 and 6-0 on the season, play at Thacher on Tuesday.
