Bishop Diego showed up strong in its Tri-Valley League clash with La Reina on Thursday. The defending league champion Regents were too strong in the end, pulling out a three-set sweep.
Each of the first two sets were played competitively until La Reina pulled away down the stretch.
“These kids realized that they can play with a good team and fight for every single point. Fun as a coach to watch,” said Cardinals head coach Jon Sener.
Adriana Kowblansky, Franchesca Engel, Summer Soto and Marilena Sullivan turned in strong performances according to Sener.
Bishop Diego (5-6, 1-5) takes on St. Bonaventure at home on Monday.
