Carpinteria turned the tables on Malibu on Thursday, defeating the Sharks 11-7 after losing to the same team two weeks ago.
“This was a very good win for our team not just for morale but to see how far we have progressed in the past few weeks,” reported Warriors head coach Charles Bryant.
“I thought the girls really stepped up today. I don’t think we played our best but a lot had to do with how Malibu played us. They are well coached and their girls do a good job of minimizing mistakes making us earn our points. We tried to use a similar gameplan.”
The new doubles team of Alondra Costilla and Jeanette Fantone executed perfectly, sweeping three sets for the Warriors. The Warriors were boosted by a strong singles performance, led by Kathryn Blair and Madison Cleek sweeping three sets each.
Carpinteria is now 6-10 overall, 2-3 in the Tri-Valley League.
