Cate is the new Tri-Valley League champion after defeating La Reina, 10-8, on Tuesday clinched the league title for the Rams with two matches to play.
The Rams are champions in their second year playing in the TVL after leaving the Condor League. La Reina was the defending TVL champ.
Cate won seven of nine doubles sets. Summer Christensen/McKenna Madden did what they’ve done all season by winning three sets without a loss. Julia Gan’s 6-2, 6-1, 6-0 sweep in singles pushed the Rams over the top.
Cate (9-0, 6-0) hosts San Marcos on Friday in a non-league match.
