Laguna Blanca’s singles lineup was nearly unbeatable on Tuesday against Bishop Diego, winning seven of nine sets to lead the Owls to a 10-8 non-league win.
Grace MacNeil and Nicole Belton, Laguna’s top two players, went 2-0 before they were subbed out for the final round. Fiona Flynn came in and won her first singles set in the third round.
Normally a singles player, Grace Giordano teamed up with Mia Waters at No. 2 doubles and claimed two of three sets. Their first-round victory was the set of the match as the Laguna duo prevailed over Bishop Diego’s Francesca Nash and Rachel Kohansamad 7-6 in an 8-6 tiebreaker.
