San Marcos’ girls golf team ventured to Ojai on Wednesday to play at Soule Park, the site of the upcoming Channel League Individual Championships. There the Royals met Simi Valley and Alemany, and scored a 247.
Alemany was best at 243 while Simi Valley – led by medalist Cami Sage – posted a 254.
Lauren Pitchford was San Marcos’ top scorer with a 42. Alex Pitchford and Kellen Peddicord came in at 49 while Amanda Chen scored a 51 and Amber Chen a 56.
“We played in a three-some format which was new to most of my team and I think it was difficult for the three of them who hadn’t played the course to know where to go on some key shots,” reported Royals head coach Sarah Ashton.
San Marcos (11-2) hosts Buena at Birnam Wood on Thursday.
